Palin's attractiveness and msm's cluelessness

Newsbusters takes note of msm's bewilderment that Palin is a hugely popular figure.

I mentioned this in an earlier post. That "how bizarre is that?" from the Lycos spokesman, referring to Palin's gigantic draw on the internet, speaks volumes on the media Not Getting It when it comes to Palin's appeal. They merely parrot that continuing interest in her is caused by her "polarizing" effect on the race. That wouldn't make sense, even if it were true. But that doesn't stop them.

Excerpt from Newsbusters:
Who says she was "polarizing"? The media does. Again this is a use of false authority. Since they say she is "polarizing" she is. But, it isn't really because of what she did, what she said or how she campaigned that was really "polarizing." This claim of polarization is the determination of the anti-Republican, anti-conservative media and they all echo it dutifully. Just as the media proclaimed the war in Iraq lost -- until it was won -- just as they proclaimed John McCain's campaign finished several times before he actually won the nomination, and jsut as the press universally assumes the "fact" of global warming, the media relies on its false authority to proclaim the "truth" of a situation and then they all echo the claim in unison. Even when proven wrong, they simply move on to proclaim the next "truth" and promulgate that as an authorized determination that defies debate.
And if they didn't have the objective data from the search engines, etc., there would be no story at all from the msm. Her drawing power and the interest in her would be ignored or denied.

Bloggers know there's still great interest in Sarah. I'm continuing to get hits from "sarah palin red shoes" searches. And since I've been getting the urge to rearrange the furniture and redecorate here at ANSP, I might feature the shoes prominently. We -- ok, I -- was never ashamed of my girl crush on Sarah (and I know I'm not alone). But there was always more to it than that. She's got it all.

Now I'm going to look for a couple of great-looking photos of Sarah to adorn this page. It won't be hard.
