We were there! So was Todd, who shook our hands. (Click on image to enlarge.)Cars entering the park had to pass through a bottleneck, and parking was less than adequate. We left early and were able to get pretty close. Not so for others who arrived later and couldn't park in the lot. No idea of the crowd size, but it didn't appear to be nearly as large as the Fairfax VA crowd from last month, probably due to the lack of parking and the short notice on the event (this rally was just recently scheduled).
Sarah hit on taxes and Obama's plans for "spreading the wealth." Also hit on sanctity of life, including children with special needs. A big theme was working people. Tito the Builder spoke a bit just before Sarah. The crowd loved him. Sarah's entrance song was "9 to 5." People held lots of "I'm _____ the _____" signs: I'm Jack the Hunter, I'm Son of Joe the Plumber, I'm Joe, Joes 4 Sarah, etc. Apparently Joe Wurzelbacher's 15 minutes aren't over yet. He has struck a resonant chord with voters. Tito, his defender, has picked up the theme and is just as articulate as Joe. (As we left the park, Tito was being interviewed by a reporter. We looked for Byron York, but didn't see him.)
The crowd was wild for Sarah. A man just behind us, with a voice that carried very well, kept shouting, "Sarah for President!" The crowd chanted the usual slogans, along with one that was new to me: "Use your brain: vote McCain." Sarah smiled at this one, and briefly chanted along.
(Sorry, ladies, we didn't even get a glimpse of Sarah's footwear.)

Tito the Builder was there, too. He's a great American patriot, who says he was born in Colombia, but made in America. Tito was shaking children's hands and telling them what a great country this is.

yes, the footwear should have a TOP priority! What color lipstick was she wearing...also VERY important in a future world leader!
And Tito...what a HUNK! I am sooo impressed, we "working" class have so much to proud of! joe the Plumber...look out...you may have some competition! :-)
i was there!
she was wearing really high black shiny pumps. :)
Thanks! For all I knew, she could have been wearing boots, or even pants! :D
Just before Sarah made a break for the McCain bus, Todd came out and shook our hands. We think he was a decoy, to divert out attention from Sarah. It worked. I didn't see her head down the hill to the bus, but I did get to shake Todd's hand and speak to him. So did two of my sons. What can I say - it was awesome.
jem, once again, I'm jealous! They won't be making any last minute stops to Illinois since we are a lost cause thanks to be Obama's home turf. It's hard living in my blue state.
Yes, bummer living in the land of Gov. Blago... :(
Any new Rezko news?
Sarah was fabulous.

Too bad there are no photos showing large attendance in Leesburg, VA, reason being there was minimal attendance. All close in shots. Not much support for Palin or McCain.
